Negotiations are routine in many legal proceedings. However, for them to be successful, your attorney must fully understand what they’re working with. If your lawyer is informed of all the details surrounding your case (including those which might be used against you), they will be in the best position to achieve a successful outcome.

The final reason why it’s important to be honest with your lawyer is that it will ultimately save you money. If you are dishonest with your attorney about the details of your case, they may strategize a legal plan that goes in the wrong direction.

As you can probably imagine, redirecting an incorrect plan will cost a lot more than if you had simply been honest in the first place.
